Our Story
Ev-Air-Tight was founded in 1919 by William Shoemaker in Philadelphia, PA. In 1954, the founder’s son, Bert Shoemaker, opened a branch in Washington, DC. In 1981, current Ev-Air-Tight President, Larry Genovere started with the company. Under Larry and his team’s diligence and hard work, Ev-Air-Tight has become a leader in commercial and multi-family full-service concrete, facade, roofing, and waterproofing rehabilitation.
Today, Ev-Air-Tight handles a variety of projects ranging from one-day service calls to multi-million-dollar, multi-year projects. What began as a four-man start has grown to now employ 300 plus employees in a multi-billion-dollar industry. Through managed growth, Ev-Air-Tight continues to serve condominiums, property managers, asset managers, and structural engineers with a culture of reliability and respect.

Safety is a core value at Ev-Air-Tight and it is at the forefront of our business. We provide continuous safety training both in-house and through third-party providers to meet and exceed OSHA and industry standards. Our goal is to ensure all employees have the information and training necessary to work safely and avoid injury. Safety practices are observed and implemented from initial pre-job meeting through completion. By incorporating safety in each step, we assure our clients a safe and successful project.
